I cannot change people's minds but I can educate my own

Members of my family have chosen to put their opinions above respect

Political views above love

Accusations above empathy

Unforgivable things have been said, in print, for all to see

Social Media has created an uncensored platform for my family to publicly tear themselves apart

I have chosen silence on that platform rather than choosing sides

I choose to look outside and realize my stillness, my hope, and my calmness will add to the good energy in the world

I cannot change people’s minds.  I cannot stop the anger brewing among my brothers, mother, and father.  But I can educate my own mind, try to see broader views, empathize and put every effort into raising better humans in my own children.

I believe that has the power to make lasting real change.

I aim to raise my children to live in each moment, be kind, respect and learn about others,  honor our guests, and pray for the world.
